a new day

There are so many new things happening in my life. A new ninja writers conference. A new dojo site. A new ninja blog. A new plan for my blog. A new adventure beginning.

If you haven't heard about NiNoCon, check it out by clicking here.

If you haven't checked out the new home for the dojo, be sure to bookmark it here. #ninjachats will be held there at the usual times, Saturdays at 9:30 MDT, Tuesdays at 9:00 MDT, and Thursdays at 2:00 MDT.

On the new site, there's a brand new blog. I'd like to invite you to contribute to the blog, which I hope to make a great resource for camaraderie and training. You can access the blog directly by going here, or you can also access it from the dojo website. If you're interested, email me. I'd love to have you!

I've been thinking a lot about blogging and time and what's most important in my life. With school starting (I homeschool my boys, so the beginning of the school year marks a busier time for me), and my new adventure . . . I realized I needed to make some changes.

What do I want from blogging? I want the opportunity to tell you what's going on with me, particularly with my writing, and to share a little of my view on life. I also want to make connections and build friendships--but this happens largely off my blog as I visit yours. So, I realized, my priority in blogging is not to write my own blog, but to visit yours.

I've decided to only post twice a week: my own article on Monday, and the narley ninja feature on Thursday. I hope you'll still visit, especially on Thursdays, as I really want to give you the chance to meet the awesome ninjas here and to learn more about them. What I hope this new schedule will accomplish for me is to allow me more time to do what I really want, which is to visit your blogs.

And my new adventure? Well, I've decided to self-publish. There will be more information on that scary/awesome experience in the weeks to come!

With all these changes, I hope I don't lose you. I hope you know how very much I appreciate you and value your friendship. I value each visit you make to my blog, every comment you leave. Thank you for being my friends!

Do you have any exciting news or a new journey you're embarking upon?

  3. I, too, will miss your updates and more frequent presence on the blog but I totally get why you're downgrading blogging on the priority list. Hope the start of a new school year goes smoothly for you.

  5. Sounds really exciting! We'll be embarking on the homeschool fall journey soon too . . . and I've been involved with a new church since January and that has stretched and grounded my faith in ways that have been surprising and needed. I understand about time constraints and I've felt them too. I'm still trying to figure out how to write, blog, visit blogs, and live fully in life at the same time.

Looking forward to seeing your new blog, and the Ninja Writer's Conference. Thanks for doing so much to support your fellow writers! You are an awesome encourager!

Blessings on your publishing adventure! and Congrats!

Mind you, I've met some great people because they've left comments, soooo...In the blogging world, you definitely get a lot when you give just a little of yourself. Good luck on you new self-pub adventure. I can't wait to hear more about it!
